The Limerick Economic Development Council opened their first meeting of 2007 with the presentation of the first annual Founders Award to recipient David Kane. “The Founders Award will be presented each year to an individual or organization who has made a significant contribution to economic development in Limerick,” stated Tom DiBello, President of the Limerick Economic Development Council. “David’s vision for creating the Limerick Economic Development Council in 2005 has now begun to flourish as a lasting entity that will continue to make positive contributions to Limerick,” noted DiBello.“It is an honor to be recognized by the Limerick Economic Development Council,” said David Kane, “I know that this group will help shape a vision for Limerick for the benefit of our residents by fostering an environment that attracts recurring revenue and enhances our tax base,” noted Kane. The featured guest speaker at the breakfast was Carmen Italia, President of the Montgomery County Industrial Development Corporation who discussed the many programs designed to support area businesses. New member recognition plaques were presented to Phil White of Sign-A-Rama in Royersford, Stephanie Montoya of the Casual Gourmet in Limerick, Matt Hammond of Traffic Planning and Design in Pottstown as well as Joe Guinta of Harleysville National Bank in Limerick. The Limerick Economic Development Council is a non-profit organization dedicated to attracting business investment in Limerick Township through a broad network of business support mechanisms including real estate location identification, tax incentives and low-interest financing opportunities, and providing an overall understanding of the land development and permit process in Limerick Township. Founded in 2005, the Limerick Economic Development Council is supported by local and regional businesses, community organizations and area residents.
